This service includes an analysis and assessment of your dog’s movement and body posture to identify signs of pain or physical discomfort. It is based on the Dynamic Dog Assessment method developed by Gemma Hodson.
This service is available for dogs only. You can view a sample veterinary report by following the link.

For whom?

I recommend using this service if your dog shows signs of aggression or reactivity, as pain is often a common cause or contributing factor in the development of such behaviors.
A study by Daniel Mills at the University of Lincoln found that around 80% of dogs with behavioral issues were experiencing undiagnosed pain. This pain either directly caused the problematic behavior or significantly contributed to it.
Even if a dog has behaved a certain way since puppyhood, this doesn’t rule out pain as a cause. The reason might be congenital or hidden physical issues, such as dysplasia or a predisposition to conditions like osteoarthritis. In fact, 20% of dogs under 18 months already show radiographic signs of osteoarthritis.
That’s why, when searching for the root of behavioral problems, I place strong emphasis on identifying possible pain, evaluating it alongside other factors that may influence your dog’s behavior.

What about the vet visit?

The veterinary education system and the structure of veterinary clinic practices are such that clients are usually given only a limited amount of time during a consultation. This time may not be enough to thoroughly analyze all aspects of your dog’s life, which is exactly what's needed when chronic, long-term pain is suspected.

This type of pain often doesn’t show up through clear symptoms, but rather through subtle behavioral changes and minor signs, such as a change in defecation posture or occasional “skipping” — missing a step or hopping momentarily.

My role is to save both you and your vet time by providing a comprehensive report highlighting all potential problem areas. With this report in hand — and knowing exactly what to look for — your veterinarian can make a quicker diagnosis and provide effective treatment.

Attention!
Dynamic Dog Assessment is not a diagnosis. I only assist you and your veterinarian by highlighting suspicious or unusual aspects of your pet’s behavior, movements, and posture. The actual diagnosis should be made by a veterinarian.

How to prepare?

Before scheduling the initial meeting, it’s important to gather your dog’s veterinary history in one place. This can include clinic records or a document you create yourself that chronologically outlines veterinary visits, tests performed, diagnoses received, and treatments prescribed.
During the initial meeting, I will also guide you through a file with detailed instructions on how to prepare the photos and videos I’ll need for the analysis. If you wish, you can review the list of required materials now by following this link. However, please start recording these only after our first meeting.
